Chocolate Banana Bread

1 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup alkalized cocoa powder
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup sour cream
6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter the bottom and sides of a 9"x5" loaf pan.

In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and cocoa powder.

With an electic mixer on medium-high, beat butter and sugar until light, about 2 minutes. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add bananas and vanilla at low speed. Mix until combined. Add one-third of the flour mixture, one-half of the sour cream. Repeat until it is all added. Add chocolate and blend for just a few seconds.

Scrape batter into prepared pan and bake on the middle rack for 55 to 60 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack for 15 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely.

Makes 1 loaf.
