Chocolate Bar Cookies

Crust:

1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour

Topping:

1 12-oz. sweetened condensed milk
1 6-oz. package semisweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Beat butter on medium-high for 30 seconds.  Add sugar and salt, beat until combined.  Press two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 13x9x2" pan.

Combine sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips in a medium saucepan.  Stir over low heat until the chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.  Remove from heat and add the nuts and vanilla.  Spread the mixture over the crust.  Dot with remaining crust mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes or until golden.  Cool in pan on a wire rack.  Cut into bars.

Makes 25.
