Grilled Flank Steak

1 cup red wine
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon brown sugar
juice of one lime
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons ground ginger
ground pepper
2 lbs. flank steak

Combine all ingredients in a 9″x13″ glass baking Score flank steak on top. Marinate flank stead 4+ hours. Remove from refrigerator 1/2 hour before cooking.

Prepare grill for direct cooking. When coals are red hot, sear flank steak approximately 1 1/2 minutes or each side over direct heat. Then cook each side approximately 3 minutes for rare. Baste with marinade while cooking.
