Butterscotch Sauce

1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
6 Tbl. unsalted butter
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

In a heavy medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt.  Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, over medium heat.  Cook for 1 minute.

Turn off the heat and stir in the cream.  Then stir in the vanilla.

Serve hot, warm, or cold.  May be reheated over low heat.

Makes 1 3/4 cups.
