Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

This makes a wonderful gift from your kitchen.  Use the smaller loaf pan size to make an ideal sized loaf to add to a gift basket.

3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
2 medium bananas, mashed
1/3 c. milk

1 t. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 c. chocolate chips or mini chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease and flour bottom only of one 9"x5" or two 8"x4" or three 6"x3.5" loaf pans.

In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar and butter.  Beat in eggs.  Add bananas, milk and vanilla; blending well.  In separate bowl, combine flour, chocolate chips, baking soda, and salt.  Add dry mixture to banana mixture, stirring just enough to moisten dry ingredients.  Pour into pan(s).

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 - 50 minutes for smallest pans adding five to ten minutes more for larger pans (or until toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean).

Cool 5 minutes, remove from pan and let cool completely.
