1 c. butter, softened
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. uncooked regular oats
1 pkg. semisweet chocolate mega morselsBeat butter and sugars at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla, beating well.
Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; add to butter mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats and morsels. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 350 degrees for 9 minutes or until golden. cool slightly on baking sheets; transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Makes 5 dozen.
** The original recipe called for 1 c. pecan pieces (toasted) to be added with the oats and morsels.
