2 cups pasta
food coloring
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
quart size freezer zip-lock bagsPour rubbing alcohol into a zip-lock bag, add a good dash of food coloring. Pour in 2 c. pasta. Make sure bag is closed well. Turn bag over and shake gently until all pasta is coated well. Let it sit flat on a table or counter for about half an hour. Turn it over occasionally during this time.
Open a corner of the bag and pour out the colored alcohol. Pour pasta onto newspapers to dry. Let it sit for a few hours until completely dry. Store in lunch bag size paper bags.
This is great for making colorful necklaces. You can also glue the pasta on a cardboard picture frame. Just ask your kids what they want to do with it, they'll come up with plenty of suggestions.
