Hamburger Buns
(Bread Machine Recipe)
1 cup warm water
2 Tbls. butter or margarine softened
3 cups flour
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
3 Tbls. nonfat dry milk
1 Tbl. sugar
1 1/2 tsps. salt
1 Tbl. yeastPlace ingredients into bread machine in the order specified by the manufacturer. Use the dough mode, removing dough from the machine after the first rise.
Punch down the dough and cover it lightly with plastic wrap. Let it sit for 20 minutes.
Divide the dough in half and cut each half into 5 equal pieces. Form each piece into a smooth round ball. Place the balls of dough onto a greased baking sheet (or a baking sheet lined with parchment) about 2" apart. Flatten slightly. Cover again and let rise in a warm, draft-free place until doubled in bulk, about 45 minutes.
Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until the buns are well browned. Remove from the baking sheets and cool on wire racks.
Makes 10 rolls.
